Hi!
I’ll let Paul post his own update soon, but I just wanted to let you all know that he is doing better than he was this time last week. He’s pretty much in some form of constant pain (no pain meds other than Tylenol), and he is VERY fatigued, but he is improving by the day and slowly getting back to some semblance of normalcy. He’s up and about on his own and even went to work for a bit the last two days! 😅 Work seemed to be the exact distraction he needed, and it has been good for him to get a change of scenery and focus on something else.
As of now, we’ve only received partial pathology results from the surgical samples. So far we know they found (and removed) five additional malignant tumors in his lymph nodes that no one was aware existed. (Hoping this means they were pretty tiny if they went undetected by scans.) They removed 50 lymph nodes total, and five of them were malignant. Although I’m not thrilled that more malignancy was hiding, Paul says 45 out of 50 being benign is a good sign — so after my initial distress over this news, I’ve decided to jump on his positivity train with this one 🙃.
Paul will post again soon. Please just give him some time to try to settle back into life and work, and allow him time to continue to rest and recover in between.
Thanks again to everyone — for everything. ❤️
Dayna
