Surgeon was great — really like her a lot. But brutally honest about the severity/recovery of this.

She said “my patients tell me the pain is worse than kidney stones and labor” (and lasts a lot longer) 🙁.

I need to plan for 2.5 months of recovery total. Pain and flu-like symptoms, nausea, fatigue, etc. (It’s not like the WHOLE time is miserable — just an overall blanket timeline of feeling like crap. Likely worse the first week or two after each procedure, then tapers off.)

About 80% of patients respond well to this, 20% dont respond to it at all. Pretty good odds.

It’s common to last about a year before the disease progresses again. (Some patients less, some more, but the average is about a year and most patients need to repeat the procdure the following year or two.)

We’re trying to sort out the timing now. Might start the first procedure in the end of March, but might wait til July.
