I know its been a while.... Figured its a new year so an update was overdue.... The good..... Have been feeling pretty good the last few months.... Working out like crazy (down 25 lbs) and trying to take good care of myself mentally and physically. I finally started getting used to the treatment (Lanreotide butt dart) and it has been making my life a lot less miserable than it was. Also taking pancreatic enzymes harvested from pigs with every meal....Anytime I eat anything..... (called CREON). This has been game changing for me until.....
The annoying stuff.... over the last few months the availability of my treatment has been getting scarce. They have been having increasing back orders for this drug and some pharmacies/hospitals cannot get it. Last month they were going to change my meds last minute but I was able to push the supplier and they found it. For December no such luck.... perfect time to have to switch meds right into the holidays (now on Sandostatin LAR - aka Octreotide).... Took forever to get this done and jump through a bunch of bullshit hoops. Finally got the new shot today (2 f'n weeks late)...... This really pisses me off. So much bs just to get the drug that is keeping me alive. How is this even possible you may ask...... or you can see why people like Luigi do what they do........ Its maddening. Fingers crossed the 2 weeks and the new drug does not bring back the stomach hell I was dealing with. I dont think I can tolerate any more of that. I have been an irate/angry bastard the last few weeks with my overload of serotonin. I can usually feel it coming on the last week before I get a treatment so you can imagine what an intolerable ass hat I am 3 weeks later..... poor Dayna ;)
I have new blood and MRI of the liver the end of this month. Fingers crossed for no changes and we just keep doing the thing. Enzymes, butt dart, rinse and repeat.....
